The Westmoreland Agricultural Fair Association is a 501C3 Corporation that was founded in 1954 by a group of farmers and businessmen located in Westmoreland County.  The Association is a private member organization that is not affiliated with Westmoreland County and does not receive money from the county.   The money generated from renting the grounds to various organizations and private individuals for various events along with the money generated during the fair is what is used to pay for the upkeep of the grounds, improvements to the grounds, as well as the expenses of putting on the fair.

What is a 501C3 Non-Profit Organization?

Section 501(c)(3) is the portion of the US Internal Revenue Code that allows for federal tax exemption of nonprofit organizations, specifically those that are considered public charities, private foundations or private operating foundations. It is regulated and administered by the US Department of Treasury through the Internal Revenue Service. One of the most distinct provisions unique to Section 501(c)(3) organizations as compared with other tax exempt entities is the tax deductible of donations. 26 U.S.C. § 170, provides a deduction, for federal income tax purposes, for some donors who make charitable contributions to most types of 501(c)(3) organizations.

How can YOU help the Westmoreland Fair?

The fair yearly expenses continue to increase while the revenue decreases thus making it harder to maintain the buildings on the grounds or to improve the buildings.  There are a number of projects that the board would like to complete to improve the grounds but don’t have the money.  You can help by making a tax deductible donation to help pay for the improvements, or to purchase a picnic table or bench in memory of someone who enjoyed the fair, to purchase flowers to landscape the office and grounds, or trees for the grounds and campgrounds.  All donators will receive a letter for tax purposes stating the amount of the donation.

To make a donation please fill out the form and mail to the fair  Donation Form
